My wife just called, I won a double pass to Aeon Flux.

Only for perving on Charlize Theron.

Aeon Flux ties with Firewall for my vote of Worst Movie of 2006 (so far; let's see if someone can top them).

What was so bad about Firewall? Sure, it wasn't the most intellectual movie of all time, but hardly earns it a 'Worst' rating.

** SPOILER ALERT **

I was sure the annoying female assistant was behind it all. At one point she even said "I though PERSON A introduced you to PERSON B" - a fact that she should not have known unless she was involved.

Even though the hero rescuing his family relied on the lucky coincidence that the bad guys decided to kidnap the dog (!) as well - it wasn't as bad as 'Flightplan' where the bad guy's evil genius plan involved hoping a hundred coincidences happened to work out for them...

To get back on topic, though, I'm not sure if Aeon Flux looks great or looks terrible.

Let us know how it goes.

Well, different people see things different ways, but for me the entire premise of the film didn't make any sense.

*** FIREWALL SPOILER ALERT ***

If a bunch of paramilitary guys with machine guns hold your family hostage and threaten to kill them, you frickin' well do whatever the hell they want.

Unless you're Harrison Ford.

*** AEON FLUX SPOILER ALERT ***

As for Aeon Flux, it took itself so seriously it was campy, the cinematography was terribly uneven and the plot devices created to show off Theron's acrobatics were juvenile.

E.g., when Goodchild's brother was killed and the rest of the council supported Trevor, there was no need to blow up the floating DNA lab since the government was now on Goodchild's side and would do what he wanted anyway.

And not only does she blow it up, but it rams into a building, probably killing some people. But it made for a spectacular finish. ;)

PS: Yes, Flightplan was completely ridiculous too.

Why? It was 100% clear that his entire family was going to be murdered at the end of the plan - the bad guys didn't try to hide their faces.

Logically the worst strategy he could have taken would have been to comply with the kidnapper's demands. To do so would have guaranteed his family's death.

And yeah - don't get me started on 'Flightplan'...
